Decorating a day bed is super simple and can be like adding an extra couch plus a bed to your home.  Here we used items from the white sale at Old Time Pottery to spruce up a day bed and make it functional during the day as a couch and at night as a guest bed.  The process is simple and you will find everything you need for the project at your local Old Time Pottery store.

We started with a new comforter set and sheets from Old Time Pottery.  You can find these during our January white sale for a bargain.  We went with a neutral gray on the comforter so we could add tons of color when it came to the pillows.

A day bed is deep so you will need a BUNCH of pillows to get the seating the correct depth from the edge.  Lucky for you Old Time Pottery has aisles and aisles of gorgeous pillows.  Most of the pillows below were either purchased at Old Time Pottery, recovered in fabric from Old Time Pottery, or on hand in my home already.  Those super large pillows in the back were my favorite Old Time Pottery find and they inspired the rest of the color scheme.  There are a ton of those large pillows to choose from or grab them in white and cover them in the fabric of your choice.

If you are not aware, Old Time Pottery has fabric remnants as well.  High quality fabrics like those pictured below that are perfect for recovering any existing pillows that you might have on hand.  I found that orange chevron fabric from Jonathan Adler selling for $14 a yard online however I got almost three yards of it at my local Old Time Pottery for only $5.99 a yard.  That is what I call a bargain!  Pick your comforter, add in some pillows, then head to the fabric section and get a few coordinating fabrics to complete the look.

After a few hours of changing bedding and recovering pillows, my day bed was looking better than ever and the perfect addition to this room!

there’s just something about a daybed that calls for a lot of pillows, right? we moved our queen into the guest room, and it sits in a little niche allowing it to become a daybed. which i promptly smothered in pillows so you knew it was a daybed, lol.

What size comforter did you use for the daybed?
Mine needs to have 3 sides covered. I also have a trumdle bed underneath.
