Spring is here and if you want a super simple way to feed the birds in your yard this mason jar bird feeder is perfect for you. Grab a few simple supplies to make your own in just minutes. Get the kids involved for a fun spring project that will provide enjoyment all summer long.
For your mason jar bird feeder you will need:
- Mason jar cup from Old Time Pottery
- Wooden dowel around 18 inches long
- E-6000 Glue
- Bird seed
On the side of the mason jar cup that is away from the handle add a line of glue.
Add your dowel and hold into place with a rubber band until the glue dries completely. Leave for at least 24 hours before removing the rubber bands or touching your project.
Remove rubber bands and make sure your dowel is secure. Start with a very long length of wire and begin wrapping around the handle as shown.
Once your wrapping is complete, wrap the wire around itself at the top several times so you have a secure way to hang your mason jar bird feeder.
Add in bird seed before hanging.
Hang in any tree or in your flower garden.
Sit and watch the birds. Enjoy the outdoors and your new mason jar bird feeder. How many of these will you make for your yard? Grab several mason jar cups on your next trip to Old Time Pottery as a mason jar bird feeder would also make a great gift.
