You can make these gorgeous mason jar vases in just minutes and use them in your spring décor. Add a bouquet and give one of these to mom for Mother’s Day as well. Get that watercolor look with the secret to these great vases…glass stain. It is a product you can find in your local craft store that makes these gorgeous mason jar vases a quick and easy craft project.

watercolor mason jar vase-001Start with a mason jar from Old Time Pottery. Clean the surface well with rubbing alcohol. The green and yellow version was made using the glass stain items pictured below.

watercolor mason jar vases-002Lay the clean mason jar on the side and start pouring on the glass stain in stripes as shown below.

watercolor mason jar vases-003Continue until you have the stain on the full length of the jar and it is running over both sides as shown below.

watercolor mason jar vases-004Rotate and add more glass stain until the entire jar is covered. Turn up as shown for about 10 minutes.

Add in flowers and you are ready to give this one to mom for Mother’s Day. You can mix and match different colors for different effects as well. The jar below was made using the glass stain products pictured.

watercolor mason jar vases-007You can grab more glass items from Old Time Pottery and try this same glass stain method on those as well. A large glass vase will look gorgeous with this same technique. These bottles of glass stain should last you through several different projects. The colors I used are perfect for spring however you can change it up for any other season or occasion. These watercolor mason jar vases will look gorgeous in your home.
