Summer brings the heat! Unfortunately some flowers are unable to handle some of summer’s extreme temperatures. Luckily, there are some beautiful flowers that can remain healthy and bright through high temperatures.

    1. Black-Eyed Susan
      These black-centered beauties bloom summer through fall and attract birds, butterflies, and beneficial insects. They look great in yellow or rusty red!


    1. Sun Parasol Mandevilla
      These gorgeous red flowers were bred for its veins and long-lasting blooms! They are very easy to grow, can climb to be up to 15 feet high, and are a favorite to all the hummingbirds. Plant in full sun where they can climb or in hanging baskets!


    1. Lantana
      The Lantana’s blooms are clustered atop dark green foliage in yellow, orange, red, lavender, white and bi-colors are fragrant. This beautiful little plant may be the easiest, all it needs is to be planted in full sun and occasional watering once established.


    1. Coneflower
      The most popular color coneflower is the purple coneflower but they are available in many colors. These beautiful flowers bloom from Spring to Fall and are loved by butterflies and bees.


    1. Dahlia
      Dahlias are absolutely beautiful and they come in many different colors and sizes. Plus, they are a as tough as they are gorgeous. Plant them in light shade in the hottest areas.
