Not every outdoor space for entertaining has to be full of formal tables and chairs. Make a cozy little area perfect for catching up with an old friend or share a glass of wine with your spouse. And you can create this space for less than $100! All you need are a few supplies and a little imagination.
All of these items can be found at Old Time Pottery. And, trust me, now is the time to go! A vast majority of outdoor furniture and supplies are already on sale for the end of summer.
Supplies:
Outdoor poufs
Bamboo beach mat
Plant stand
Outdoor pillows
Lantern
Citronella candle
Tiki torches
I also threw in a couple of pretty (but non-breakable!) drinking glasses. I love how they match the candle!
Use the beach mat as a rug. This helps establish the conversation area and provides a clean place to lounge. Arrange the poufs on the mat in such a way that it will be easy to converse.
Fill the tiki torches with fuel and set them up nearby. You won’t want to be interrupted by pesky mosquitos while you’re entertaining!
A couple of pretty outdoor pillows add to the coziness of the look. They also enable more people to join the space as an item to lounge on.
The plant stand doubles as a small table, perfect for holding the citronella candle and a beverage. The addition of the white lantern adds a decorative and homey touch to the space. You can place another candle in the lantern so the conversation can continue after dark!
The poufs themselves are very comfortable for sitting and add to the intimacy of the space. Perfect to carry on a quiet convo with friends!
I also like that they double as seating for my kids, because they have already threatened to take them over.
Who says the outdoors can’t be cozy? A little firelight, a conversation oasis, and glass of your favorite beverage and you are ready for guests.
It only takes a handful of items to bring the inside outside and create a comfortable space perfect for entertaining.
Hi Michelle, this looks so relaxing, the poofs look fun and I love your garden, so lush and green!
Thanks for sharing on the #OMHGWW this week!
Have a great summer!
The white lantern is pretty and I love the whole color scheme! Where did you buy the lantern? I’ve seen them at Hobby Lobby or heard that Wal-Mart carries some like it. Thanks for sharing at the Family Joy Linkup!
What a cute little area! Love the tiki torches 🙂
