Every year I try to do a little crafty gift for the many people that I buy for.
I also like having something to bring to parties for a Hostess gift. Times have changed and it is hard to buy for everyone but when you can do a little something it makes the giving fun and memorable.
This year I decided to make ornament coasters. I know you have seen the popular wood slices made into ornaments but they can be costly and time consuming.
This little trick will be easy and inexpensive.
I purchased bamboo coasters from Old Time Pottery for $4.99.
You get four to work with.
Paint the cork or remove it. I used a chalk based paint in black and a chalk marker in white.
You already have a perfect circle so you just fill it in. I added trim to some and ribbon to others.
Using the white chalk marker, I drew and hand lettered different sayings. I added a brass eye hook to attach my ribbon on for hanging.

There are so many ideas you can use!
I love the way they look! What a great idea for a quick gift. You can hang them on a wine bottle or top a wrapped gift too!
I also painted some and used them for there intended use, coasters. Painting them gives them an added touch and makes it personalized.
Wrap the coasters in a pretty ribbon and you have another one of a kind gift that doesn’t break the bank!
Now we have some extra money for other things!
Merry Christmas!
