Make your own marbled monogram flower pot from any planter. Pick up the planter of your choice at Old Time Pottery then bring it home to add this fun paint treatment. It is a super easy paint method that will leave you with a marbled surface in just minutes. Follow along below to see just how you can get the same look in your home.
Items needed to make your own marbled monogram flower pot:
- Planter of your choice (we used a terra cotta pot)
- Craft paint in assorted colors
- Spray paint in another color
- Varnish or clear coat
- Plastic tub
- Water
- Paint brush
- Monogram stencil
- Stencil brush
- Plastic gloves
Paint the entire pot with a light color of craft paint. If your pot is already your desired color, feel free to skip this step. I recommend painting inside and out to get a finished appearance to your final product. This will take several coats. Be sure to dry in between coats. Allow to dry completely before continuing.
Now we are going to add the marbled finish in a few quick and easy steps. You may want to wear plastic gloves during these steps. Take an old plastic tub outside and fill with water. Spray your spray paint onto the surface of the water. Dip in your flower pot.
Then quickly turn the flower pot on the surface of the water. The spray paint will adhere to your surface in a variety of areas leaving you with a marbled paint appearance.
Allow to dry completely. Then add on your monogram with a stencil and another color of paint.
Allow to dry before adding a varnish or clear coat to protect your work from the elements.
Add in your plant once everything is nice and dry.
You will love this marbled monogram flower pot for your home. It will look great indoors or out! You can use this marbling technique on a variety of projects around your home. Be sure to keep that old plastic tub on hand and head to your local Old Time Pottery for other things that need a marble paint finish.
