Now that the seasons are changing, we will start looking forward to outdoor activities and entertaining. I enjoy having people over and usually entertain in our back yard. The flowers and trees are blooming and it is always so pretty.
Entertaining doesn’t have to be stressful. I just had the sweetest picnic in the wildflowers. I went to Old Time Pottery in search of potted plants. The have so much in their greenhouse. They were just starting to fill it up. As I walked the isles looking for some outdoor goodies I came up with an idea using a paper towel holder!
I absolutely hate putting my glass on the ground. So I came up with this idea and it was so easy to make.
I found a wooden paper towel holder at Old Time Pottery for $7.99.
I turned it upside down.
I drilled a couple of holes big enough for the stem of my wine glass to fit and sawed a gap for it to slide on.
The opening wasn’t perfect but who cares. The glass will cover it. It literally took 15 minutes to do it. I removed the rubber stoppers that were glued on the bottom.
Unscrew the top disc from the dowel. When turned upside down the dowel will be inserted into the ground with the table raised.
insert wine glass
I used a utensil holder for the wine bottle found in the kitchen dept of Old Time Pottery. My picnic was almost ready.
They have quite a selection of fabric. I have used fabric in many projects including the flag banners I made for the porch.  It is such a good price that I tend to use it for all sorts of things. This time I purchased a few yards to use as a “blanket” to sit on. I couldn’t resist the birds!!
It looks so good with the flowers I purchased and the adorable tin container I used for a beverage holder. Filled it with ice and root beer and It was good to go.
I soaked up the rays and enjoyed a relaxing day.  All that is left now is to grill out the food!
I think I will make a few more of these little tables to put all around the yard this year. I may even bring a couple to insert in the sand at the beach.
Always time for a glass of wine and relaxing….
Here’s to a great day!

Well this is truly one of the most unique ideas I’ve ever seen! I love how it holds the wine glass too!

    So very, very cool!

    Thanks for sharing!
